Mick Jones’ cherry red double-cutaway Les Paul Junior played a huge part in creating the sound of the early Clash in 1976/77 and was used throughout the recording of the band’s first album. Inspired by the Les Paul Juniors of Mick Ralphs and Johnny Thunders, Mick Jones had more than one of these in the early years but this one, with his name scrawled into it, was the main protagonist. A white one appeared circa 'Give Em Enough Rope' and a yellow one that can be seen in the 'Rock The Casbah' video.
