No Limit Cigarettes & Coffee
What began as The Gutshot Poker Collective went on to become known as the Gutshot Poker Club, or more simply Gutshot. In poker terms, it was Haight-Ashbury on the Clerkenwell Road in London; the Roxy, the Groucho and the Ministry of Sound all rolled into one big 24-hour celebration of No-limit Hold’em, coffee, cigarettes and whatever else it takes to get you through the night.
In it’s brief but incredible reign between March 2004 and the winter of 2007, Gutshot became a home to thousands of truly splendid and celebrated rambling, gambling degenerates and poker lovers alike. A decadent banquet of Kings, Queens and all the Knaves if I ever saw one… It was a pleasure to be there with you and I raise a glass to each and every one of you for being part of the adventure!
This brief celebration of those times is as much a family album as it is a photo book. My humble apologies to the many fabulous Gutshot members/friends who don’t appear within these pages. We were as likely too busy sharing dark tales and raising the blinds to get that beautifully lit portrait on the night (you’ll all know who you are). I’m sure I’ll see you somewhere around!
